Stone Circle: Almost done!

You may recall the Stone Circle terrain I was working on awhile back: I finally got around to doing the basing.  Initially I was a bit concerned - the flock was quite green, which detracted badly from the glowing effect I was trying to achieve.  A bit of drybrushing has muted that though.

Still think it needs some more bloodstains through...or maybe a sacrificial victim chained to one of the uprights! Bwahahahahaha!

  1. Lovely!
The resin piece sure seems to be nice (and that always helps), but gotta say I love the basing, and how the rocks seem to sprout from the land.
The glow looks good to me, and I suppose I wouldn't add a single thing (not even more blood).
That way it can either be some long forgotten ruin in the middle of nowhere (for any kind of game), or for a specific campaign you can just add an appropriate painted mini to represent whatever game piece you need!

    Congrats!

  2. Nicely done.

I think these latest images with the mixed vegetation are so realistic.

I would not add a sacrificial figure but keep the piece as it is.

  4. Superb! Great lighting effect too, how about a few rusty shackles?

  5. Absolutely fantastic. Very haunting with the luminescent glow! I can almost feel the mist rolling in from the moorland fells as night draws in ... Fantastic, Paul - really fantastic!

  6. Looks great Paul. Like the idea of more blood and there would be nothing wrong with a victim chained up too.

  12. Great atmospheric piece. I would actually try going for two versions, the clean one you have there then a second with the gore so you can swap them during a campaign as things turn nasty. (Which, if it's anything like ours it soon will do).

  14. Very cool. Dry brushing flock is something I over look but it can be really effective in toning it back.

  17. Nicely done. I'd leave the victim off or perhaps have a removable one so you could use it for different themed games. The glow effect is rather good. Perhaps some little candles in the corners of the triangle?
